DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF YOUR LOCAL REGISTERED MANAGERS NETWORK?
As your local care association, Care and Support West has been running Registered Managers’ Networks in B&NES, Bristol, North Somerset and South Glos for the last two years. The Networks have been funded by Skills for Care and consistent feedback we have received is that they are felt to be of real value to people who have attended the sessions.
We want to continue to offer these Network sessions but to do so we are going to have to ask for a contribution from providers and we therefore are sending out a proposal.
We propose to run four (quarterly) full day sessions in the forthcoming year, starting in September or October 2016. The venues and dates will be booked in advance for all four sessions and the information about the full year programme will be provided to participants at the start of the year.
Alongside a continued opportunity to network with other managers, a key function of the sessions will be to support the Continued Professional Development of Registered Managers. The session content will be developed in line with this and each of the sessions will be certificated. In essence the sessions will be designed to be a cost effective way of organisations investing in the professional development of their managers and enabling them to link into other managers locally.
Currently we are looking to develop and deliver sessions on the following topics:
1. The Mental Capacity Act, obtaining consent and determining best interests
2. Leadership and culture setting
3. CQC inspections – giving yourself the best chance of success
4. Managing conflict, personalities and performance.
We have developed an outline proposal and questionnaire which we will circulate to as many people as we can. This provides a detailed outline of each of these courses. We are suggesting we will need to be making an annual charge per participant of between £37.50 and £75.00 depending on numbers but for this they will get four full day training sessions.
If you are interested in signing up as a participant then please contact Mik Alban on 07788 498909 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The more people we get, the lower the price we can offer it for.
